Calling all young photographers! Enter the International Youth Photography an Short Film Competition 2010 and You Could win the chance to showcase your creative work around Europe, Asia and Africa. Winners will have the incredible opportunity to be involved in media trainings and will make their own photography and cinema exhibition.

Nowadays, the contemporary models of production and consumption are not constructed on a sustainable ground. The proofs are everywhere around us – people are permanently faced with the consequences of the Climate Change, decrease of biodiversity, increased migration of young people to developed cities and desertation of rural and geographically isolated areas, contrast of human and nature welfare in the countries around the world.

Sustainability of today’s world means to preserve its three faces: environment, society and economy.

This  media competition strives to make young people express how they feel about all these changes and challenges they face with every day and to boost their vision of which are the possible ways to tackle the difficulties and challenges of Sustainable Development.

The competition “Youth Eyes Change the World: sustainable use of natural and energy resources” aims at revealing young people’s awareness of sustainable development issues in their local community, their country or around the world.

Picture your thoughts and ideas through the means of a digital photo camera or a video camera and send to us your works!

The best works will be awarded! How? You will be the new promoter of Sustainable Development in your community and will be a complete Media Expert!

Terms and Conditions

Conditions

• The competition is open to all young people ages 13-25 residents in Bulgaria, Germany, France, South Africa, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan;
• Young Photographers are not restricted  to the environment but can also focus on people, animals, buildings and surroundings and all subjects that may represent an inspiration to their creations.
• Entries (photos and video clips) can show people in action, human emotions, or real-life, day-to-day events.
• Photographic and video works are accepted but in digital format.

Deadline

• The Young photographer must upload the pictures or video clips on the website of the competition by 15th March 2010.
• Late entries will not be accepted past this date.
• The Jury will announce the list of winners by 25th March 2010 and it will be published on the official website of the competition.
• All winners will take part in the organized trainings and activities within the project “Sustainable Development through the Eyes of Youths”.

Submission Guidelines

Please read these guidelines before submitting your entry:

• You must include your name, date of birth, home address/ e-mail/ phone number on each submission. If possible please , include your e-mail address. You must be between 13 and 25 years of age to be considered in this “youth competition”.
• Any work you submit may be published on the official website of the competition.
• Any writing may be edited and we reserve the the right to publish our edited version without your prior approval.
• All works submitted become the property of the project “Sustainable Development through the Eyes of Youths”.
• All material published on the official competition website “Youth Eyes Change the World” is copyrighted to protect us and to exclude others from republishing or reproducing your work. However, all individual contributors retain the right to submit their work for publication elsewhere and you have our full permission and understanding to do so.

Submitting your Photo and Short Film on the Website

• You can upload up to 5 pictures, they must be smaller than 10 MB each to get through our system. Save all items as either jpg,jpeg,png,gif,bmp file.
• If you submit a short film – you can submit only 3 short film of 3-5 minutes max and smaller than 50 MB to get through our system. Save all items in avi,mpg,mpeg,flv format.
• You can submit 5 Photo works in one of the categories below:
  • Environment;
  • Society
  • Economy.
• You can submit 3 videos in the categories below below:
  • Environment;
  • Society;
  • Economy.
